Did you know that we have two separate vision plans here at Aviation Recorders?
The Vision Care Plan, administered through VSP, covers one eye exam and one set of lenses (including contacts) during any 12-consecutive month period and one frame during any 24-consecutive month period, as long as those services are rendered by an ophthalmologist or optometrist. How benefits are paid depends on whether or not you use a VSP doctor for your care. Since VSP doctors have agreed to provide their services to eligible employees and dependents for a pre-arranged fee, all you pay is the applicable co-payment and the cost of any non-covered, elective items. VSP pays the rest directly to the doctor. Through a VSP doctor, the plan pays 100% of an eye exam after a $10 co-payment; the co-payment for lenses and frames is $20. See your enrollment materials or visit http://www.vsp.com/ for additional plan details.

An added benefit of being in the Medical Plan is the discount available on certain vision services through Vision One, our second vision plan.
- You can save up to 65% on frames, up to 50% on lenses and about 20% on contacts. You can even get 20% off on non-prescription items, like sunglasses and contact lens solutions.
- To get your discount, just go to a Vision One provider and show them your Aetna ID card. Local providers are Sears, JC Penney and Pearle Vision Centers.
- You can use Vision One as often as you like and there are no claims to file.
Keep in mind that you can use both Vision One and VSP together. For example, you can use a VSP provider for eye exams and glasses and a Vision One provider for prescription sunglasses.
